Extreme Community Makeover

4th Annual United Way

Community Makeover

Volunteer teams and United Way partner agencies were paired  for the fourth annual United Way Extreme Community  Makeover.  United Way agencies submitted their “wish list” of needed repairs and remodels at their agency.  The majority of the funds at United Way agencies goes to community services with little or nothing left for updating their facilities.

Eight companies and their volunteer teams volunteered for the projects.  Each team had to have a $500 sponsorship for the work.  They could not spend over $500 but could use donated or in-kind items.   Lowe’s Home Improvement Store stepped forward to provide a 25% discount for any products purchased for the projects.

The projects were highlighted at an Awards Breakfast on November 8th.  United Way Partner Agencies expressed their appreciation for the amazing work completed at their agency.  Hats off to the area companies who participated in the Extreme Makeover!
