How to Volunteer

United Way of Greater Lima is your United Way. Join others in the community who volunteer in many different ways to make our community better.

  • Become a member of the United Way Board. Help to make decisions on the direction of United Way in our community.
  • If your interests are of a financial nature, join the Community Investment Committee. Learn more about the agencies and their needs. Help to allocate the funds raised during the campaign.
  • Help United Way with the annual golf scramble. The 2011 golf scramble was very successful.
  • Interested in how United Way agencies operate? Join the Performance Review Committee. This committee conducts reviews of United Way agencies to see how their programs benefit the community
  • Other non-profit agencies periodically request admission to United Way. You can be part of the Admissions Committee that reviews the agency and gives their recommendations to the United Way Board.
  • The United Way Marketing Committee plans the Campaign Kick-Off, Awards Celebration and Report Luncheons each year. They produce the campaign video and printed material used throughout the year. Ideas for special events come from the Marketing Committee.
  • During the United Way campaign volunteers are always needed to help solicit businesses and individuals.
  • Time commitments for volunteers vary. Some committees meet once each month. Some meet only certain times of the year. Regardless of your interests or abilities, there is a spot for you as a United Way volunteer.
