Our 2017 Campaign is all about Living United. We are more than the fundraisers. We are the Handraisers, the Gamechangers. We work hard to locate our communities biggest problems, surround them, and fight to eliminate them. United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person, in every community.

Kindergarten Kamp

It has garnered state recognition as one of the best pre-kindergarten programs to get young students ready for the classroom. “Kindergarten Kamp” is known for its innovative techniques and the measurable difference it has made in children’s lives in the Lima community. Children that have attended “Kindergarten Kamp” have consistently scored higher on assessment tests than children who have not participated in the camp.

Wheels to Work

Wheels to Work is collaboration between, United Way, Allen County Department of Job and Family Services, Apollo Career Center, LACCA, Superior Financial Credit Union and Union Bank, which assists a qualified person who would not normally be approved for credit to purchase a car and secure a car loan.  This helps individuals/families to reach a more independent status, overcome transportation obstacles to maintain employment, build credit and to assist in moving toward self-sufficiency.

Mentoring Program

The Family Mentoring program is a partnership of: United Way, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Allen County Dept. of Job/Family Services and Coleman Professional Services  which assists willing families in overcoming obstacles to economic advancement to self-sufficiency.
